Delivering evidence based cognitive-behavioural therapy to children, adolescents and adults.

About Me

I am a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist. I work with children, adolescent and adults using evidence based cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) as a main approach. I have degree level qualifications to work with all three age ranges.

I trained as a mental health nurse (RMN) and have worked in NHS mental health services both adult services and child and adolescent mental health services – (CAMHS). I have competed degrees in CBT with adults and CBT with children and adolescents.

Cognitive Works

I set up Cognitive Works in 2010, to offer evidence based practice to children, adolescents and adults in the Basingstoke and North Hampshire surrounding areas. Since this time the practice has grown steadily and has developed more recently into a service that can see you in person or wherever you are located in the country using the Microsoft Teams system.

My area of expertise, across the age ranges, particularly focuses on anxiety disorders and depression disorders. I also work with self-esteem and self confidence and how this can impact and/or be a part of mental health issues.

I have current DBS clearance (November 2020), this is renewed every three years.

I also conform to data protection legislation and I am a member of the ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office).
I accept private referrals and health insurance referrals. I am registered with the following health insurance companies as a provider of CBT for children, adolescents and adults.

Please read my privacy policy for more details on Cognitive Works best practice for the protection of your personal data.

BABCP Accredited

What is an accredited therapist?

  • BABCP accreditation means that a CBT therapist has both core professional mental health training or recognised equivalent; as well as specific CBT training.  In order to be accredited, BABCP members must have applied and demonstrated that they meet high standards of training and experience in CBT.

  • They also commit to maintaining our standards of clinical practice, clinical supervision and continuing professional development activities. Accredited members are audited to ensure that they continue to meet these expectations.

  • The CBT Register UK is a public register of  accredited BABCP  members. The aim of the Register is to  protect the public, employers and other agencies by  helping them find CBT therapists who have met the required standards.
